Peptides degrade over time through processes such as hydrolysis and oxidation. Cold, dry, and dark storage slows this down. Storage conditions differ before and after reconstitution.
Lyophilised powder
Store the sealed vial desiccated at −20 °C, protected from light. Under stated conditions the material is stable to the retest date on its Certificate of Analysis. Let a vial reach room temperature before opening to limit condensation onto the powder.
After reconstitution
A reconstituted solution is less stable than the dry powder. Refrigerate for short-term use and freeze for longer storage, following the compound’s stated conditions. Aliquot into single-use portions so you are not repeatedly freezing and thawing the whole stock.
Handling
Minimise time at warm temperatures, keep vials out of direct light, and label aliquots with the date. When in doubt, the Certificate of Analysis for the lot states the conditions the material was tested under.
